Its major accidents are the two small peninsulas denominated "eyeglasses" and the island of the hill where the Pipil Indians had a temple and a representative of the goddess monolith Itzcueye.
Considered among the 10 most beautiful lakes in the world, the Nahuatl language name means "Hill of Snakes"
It is ideal for diving. Sailing, kayaking, swimming, water skiing etc.
