There's this guy at my work and he is very nice. I assume he is a bit mentally slow and doesn't have the same social skills. He recently requested to follow my social medias, and I did not let him. He then started sending me messages which I did not really like. I don't want to hurt his feelings (And I think he is upset with me) but I don't allow anyone other than people I know very well on my social media/message me. Is that rude?

No, that's pretty normal. I say he's the one being intrusive seeing as how you never invited him to your social page.
It may feel rude to him, I suggest going up to him and explaining clearly why you’d prefer him not to follow you just yet. Just say something along the lines of ‘I prefer social media to be kept with my close friends and family only’
I don’t think you’re being rude, but if he’s neurodivergent he won’t understand why you don’t want him to follow you unless you explain clearly and kindly, hope that helps
I'm sure it feels rude to him, whether or not you or I feel that it is.
No, it's not rude to treat him just as you would treat any other co-worker. It's OK to say "I only use social media with a few people I'm very close to."
