History fail again. The European nations have had large standing armies for the past few centuries, this has not been the case in the British Isles, which were not self sufficient in agriculture and so depended on foreign trade for foodstuffs. The defence of the islands has therefore been dependent upon the navy, which it is to this day with our four Vanguard-class submarines armed with Trident II D-5 ballistic missiles.
Not that I'm aware of. Most Brits are more obsessed with when the new Covid Vaccine will roll out. Or when their cheap as chips Amazon parcel will arrive!
If that's so, I don't know why they would be. Whether in or out of the E.U., the U.K. will still be a member of N.A.T.O. If they finally leave the E.U., many people, even in the U.K., will think it's the wrong decision. However, I'm unaware of any country expressing enmity to the U.K.
Besides, if either E.U. or U.S. were to start hostilities, the U.K. would be defeated in less than a day. Even if every person in the union were in its military, it would lose to a tsunami of overwhelming numbers.
"snafu" seems to forget that the U.K. isn't the only country to have nuclear-powered submarines. Any such war would be decided by missiles anyway.
"Sad-Eyed ..." doesn't explain by Biden is "Grandpa Joe", but the fat dotard isn't "Grandpa Donny".
It's tragic how some U.K. damned fools think their silly little islands are invincible.

Alarmed might be a better word. Alarmed at how small they are compared with others.

Stuck between Grandpa Joe and The United States Of Europe, I think they may have good reason.
Not when you have nuclear subs.
