It seems to me that klar kent is teasing you. I live in Spain and I usually spend my holidays near Barcelona (and also I watch Spanish news regularly) and I have never heard such a thing. I think the Mediterranean Sea has sharks but not close to the coastal area. In fact, if you want to be afraid of something, be afraid of jellyfishes, they have attacked more than 700 people in one week and a couple of beaches near Barcelona have been closed. It's because of the the sunny and dry weather of summer and because during spring the rain wasn't enough.
I would say no. I'm from Barcelona and I study environmental science. There are sharks in the Mediterranean sea, but they are pretty small (3 meters long), sometimes a big white shark may have been seen in the Mediterranean area but it's not common at all. It's REALLY rare that any shark will get any close to the coast in Barcelona or anywhere in Spain. The Mediterranean coast is fairly shallow and sharks don't get close to that.
If you have to answer this for a school assignment just say no, if you're asking because you're coming here, don't worry at all. It's more likely that you find a win-lottery ticket in the street than you see a shark (unless you go to the aquarium)
I live in Barcelona and I remember seeing a newspaper photograph, about 5 years ago, of a dead shark that drifted close and had been removed from the water near Barcelona. Never heard of anyone seeing a live one or a being attacked. Nasty jellyfish plagues recently, though.
Barcelona has become among the first tourist location of Spain because it knows just how to please the huge majority : with a history one of the oldest in Europe, an area that never sleeps and an inland high in attraction, wonderful wonderful beaches in La Costa Brava and you can see all of this if you have a look with hotelbye first. The range of artistic items, the Romanesque churches and the great names in contemporary art and architecture like: Dali, Gaudi, Miro and Picasso provide Barcelona an area in the list of cities you should see.
Reading the publication instead of watching the movie is the ultimate way to see what the author planned. Reading uses your imagination, hones your reading skills, and can increase your vocabulary
