So I was wondering if I could use my Laptop as a TV for my PS4. I saw my friend using his laptop as a TV but I forgot to ask. Do I simply plug my HDMI into both the laptop and PS4 and play or do I have to download something

The closest you could get would be to use a capture device that captures the PS4 video (via HDMI) and displays it on your PC. However, this tends to add some latency, which is completely unacceptable when playing games, especially fast paced-ones.
Unless you have an INPUT port no. Most laptops only have OUTPUT ports.
Sorry, but you can't watch TV on your laptop by plugging an HDMI into a port on your laptop. You can watch what's on your laptop on a TV by doing that, because you can stream video out of your laptop, but not into it. Make sense?
The HDMI port on your laptop is an output only connector.
I guess you'll need a PCIe TV card if it supports one. Never played with that, never had the need and it looks like a waste of time and resources. LCD TV's are super cheap nowadays.
Nope, its like using gas to drive around town, instead of using my car with gas. It only outputs info, not inputs.
won't work. your friend was running a program on his laptop, not using it to output the program running on a PS4
Nope. Laptops are video OUT only, not video in.
