My close friend said she felt insecure as all her friends had a new car except her, and since her bank and relatives refused, she pleaded me for a loan of $20,000. I felt really sorry for her and she's always said I'm her best friend so I agreed. She just made her final payment but I recently found she had a fb account with 1000+ ppl and had all of her friends except me. I added her, but she immediately deleted my request and and marked me as spam. I called her but she said it was a 'coincidence'. I told her off for being 2 faced and said I was stupid for going out of my way to help her thinking I was her friend. Her husband got involved and said it's her choice to be friends with who she wants and I shouldn't interfere.

Your friend sounds immature... Feeling insecure because she doesn't have a new car!!! Really??? She needs to grow up.
And having 1000 plus friends on FB. That's what teens do. They aren't friends. Most are assorted odds and sods who wouldn't know her if they fell over her on the pavementAnd you took a huge risk in lending her all this money, given no lender would touch her, or any family member. Lucky for you, that your got your money back.
This is a hard lesson learned. Mixing friendships and money lending don't tend to mix very well .
As to is she a friend? Well, not a good one. Although to get credit she did repay you.
it was a business deal. You loaned - she paid back. Her husband is correct. Just as YOU can have friends on FB , so can she......and everyone else. Just because you had a business deal with her (which she honoured) doesn't mean she HAS to think of you as a friend.
No longer a friend.
Troll smarter, moron
You just learned the oldest lesson in the book-- loan money and lose a friend. Either you'll lose them because they can't or won't pay back and they avoid you or you'll lose them because they do pay you back but will always resent the fact you can lord it over them as being their poor pitiful broke friend that you SAVED. They can't stand feeling like that and seeing you reminds them. NEVER LOAN MONEY TO FRIENDS unless you want them gone forever.
