Use an iron to do it. As in iron like ironing board. Works every time. You can try it with or without steam and see what works best for you. btw... using a hair straightener every two weeks? My hair's the same! It just won't do what I want it to! It's just your hair and you can't really change it. But in England there's a home perming treatment to keep hair straight for a few weeks then it goes normal again. You should look into that because it works! :)

i'm not exactly sure if this will help your hair but after i wash my hair i use big sexy hair root pump mousse and i put it on just the roots and the tips, and it works for me (:
